Hi,
Happy New year to all. I've posted before, but just wanted to ask a little advice. After buying f/hold in Dec 2011, and requesting ground rent off other l/holder and getting nothing, finally managed to get a cheque and insurance document (first page only, photocopied) in June. Insurance doc did not show my name anywhere so I returned it with the cheque via my solicitor saying couldn't accept cheque while issue of insurance was incorrect. Asked (again, via solicitor) for an amended ins document to be sent with cheque. No response. Ground rent is now due again, do I send a letter asking for the insurance document in the correct names, and c.c. it to the Mortgage company suggesting I may refer to the LVT if it is not received promptly, or should I hand it over to a solicitor who deals with contentious matters to try his hand? Just spoke with "a popular lease adviser" who seemed to think I might be waiving my right to forfeit by applying for insurance and/or ground rent at this point, but then suggested no harm in writing as above. Bit confused. Can't forfeit anyway for this small amount but don't want him to get away with it.
Thanks all.
