Attic query

Hello,

I am in need of a little advice..
Me and my family have moved into a 3 bed house a few months ago, when we moved in we asked the LL politely if we could use the attic, assuming that the answer would be yes and he basically said no.
We now have a room full of stuff that was up the attic of the last house that is too good to throw away therefore rendering that room useless, and we are a little annoyed as we we were not told this before signing the contract.
We have checked the contract and it does not state anywhere that we cant use the attic.

So does this mean that we can or cannot use the attic for storage?
