I am really new to this and thinking about using an on line service, I had a call recently from one based in manchester, they seemed very knowledgeable about lettings, I rang them back to check out what their service was like as a tenant and they didn't charge any extra tenant fees apart from an agreed £60 referencing fee if it was needed. They also provide a fully managed and guaranteed rent scheme which seemed to be perfect for me as I don't want to worry about not getting my rent. I only have one property and do not have a lot of money to keep up my mortgage payments if I don't get paid. They charge £49+vat up front for advertising and then that's it. But if you want to guarantee your rent its £299+vat up front and then £50+vat per month after that. My property is in London, and i have recently had to remortgage,it was left to me by my mum and I had some financial difficulties to overcome, hence my newness to this, but I am struggling to understand the whole letting agent fee thing as there seems to be a lot of difference across the board with hidden charges etc. This company that I spoke to were really helpful and not at all push push push, just seemed to happily talk me through everything and then sent me an email with all of their services and fees on for me to look at and decide at my leisure. So the reason for my rather over extended post here is could anyone let me know if they have any good or bad experiences with these online companies, I don't think that I am allowed to put their name on here because of rules but I am really thinking of using them and could do with some genuine advice.I have read through your posts but got a bit lost.
