Been looking hard on this site, others and HMRC site, but found nothing in plain English, so please help.
Bought my property in mid 2010. The fence, at least one side of it, about 80 foot of it needs to be replaced as replacing all of it as present one is falling over, main posts given way and others near giving way along with some fencing.
My question is, if I replaced the fence will it be seen as 'capital expenditure' or 'maintenance'?
My understanding is that capital expense none tax deductible but maintenance is but I'm not sure how HMRC will see it.
Also, i claim the 10% 'wear and tear' for the white goods and furniture.
