Communal Leak, advice plz

Evening

Looking for some assistance.

Briefly, I own a top floor flat and the owner below has reported water ingress through his ceiling. I organised a plumber to investigate and nothign was noted, however the bath was re-sealed as a precaution. Water continued leaking, and the agent below contacted an emergency plumber who removed a panel in my bathroom and it is now apparent its the soil/rainwater pipe that is causing the problem. My plumber returned, also confirmed it to be the case, however the crack is also noticeable in the communal attic space above my property as well. An estimate was provided and I passed this to all other owners in the building (10 in total) asking for a share, as I can not financially afford, and nor do I believe, as the leak is occurring above my flat (also in) and the pipe is communal, that it should be me solely responsible. Have received no payment from anyone and the owner below is threatening legal action against me. Bearing in mind, the leak is occurring from the cast iron pipe in my property but also above, am I legally responsibile for carrying out the works? I could fix the pipe within my property, however it would seem a little crazy doing so when the leak will continue above.

Any help appreciated.
