I have a ladies fashion shop and there is a hostel located directly above my property. For the past 6 months there has been a serious issue with leaking into my property, it was minor leaks to begin with and this was mainly in the bathroom so didn't cause me too many problems. Although I must emphasise that I told them every time there was a leak and demanded it be fixed and I have indeed had numerous plumbers and decorators in from them fixing the problem.
The leak has now moved and two weekends ago it began coming through the light fixtures in the changing rooms. I had to spend money on buying lights so customers could even see themselves. I have not directly lost custom because of this but it certainly does not give the customers a good impression. I also offer a made to order bridal service within the business and if I was a customer and saw buckets of water being leaked into it wouldn't fill me with confidence that I would get a dress made there.
Is there anything I can do? The landlord is simply ignoring me.
