I'm seeking some advice regarding renting a property to my Daughter. The property is owned by my elderly father, but I shall be the landlord. I'm only asking for £100 per month, to cover and damages etc and for improvements, which she will be carrying out while at the property and am also considering a £100 deposit for possible damages. There will be a written contract between ourselves, as she wants assurance that she will be there for at least a 6 month period. Due to a fallout we had while she was previously at the property, resulting in her leaving, this contract is the only way to legally ensure this.
My question is this; where would this contract leave me legally. As I am now, presumably, legally a landlord, are there any things I would need to do; or with it being more of a friendly agreement with family would all this be above board with regards the law?
