I've brought two properties, both in bad states of repair. I spent 12k on the one and 8k on the other. ive been told I can't offset this against my tax on the rent, is this true. also I know this is the wrong forum but which is the best deposit protection scheme to put the deposit's in. i'm new to this renting out so any information would gratefully received.
