I lease a commercial premises and my landlord insures the building and I re-emburse him each year.
I have a long running dispute with my landlord regarding the poor condition of the roof, foundations & structure. (not a full repairing lease- he is responsible for maintaing this)
Recently my landlord made 2 claims on his insurance which lead to "insurance people" visiting the premises.
Having seen the condition of the building they are threatening to not renew the policy which is soon to expire.
Where does this leave me?
This will surly impact on my own employers, public liability and contents insurance.
If my LL does does not insure the premises he is in breach of the lease.
Will this force me to close my business?
Could the LL mortgage company forclose?
What can/should I do?
