Evening Fellow Members!
I was just having a general browse about a question and stumbled across your site and was hoping you might be able to help me.
I have recently moved out of a property (17th April AM to be exact) and I have not yet received my deposit back.
The estate agent contacted me on the 25th April to advise that the landlord would like to make some deductions but did not specify what they would be or the amount and that they would get back to me soon.
As of today I have still not received anything.
My TDS letter states the following...
"The Member must tell the tenant within 10 working days of the end of the tenancy, (or as specified in the tenancy agreement) if they propose to make any deductions from the deposit."
My questions on this are as follows...
1) The Tenancy agreement doesn't specify a timescale. Does this therefore revert to the 10 days specified in the TDS wording which has been signed by the landlord?
2) Is the estate agents e-mail sent to me on the 25th acceptable with respect to the TDS wording or are they now out of time to request deductions?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Kyle
