I live in a block of 34 leasehold retirement apartments. By our own request and with full permission of the management, we had a satellite system installed approximately one year ago. Since then, 8 of the 34 apartments are using the Sky/Freesat option. The instalation cost and maintenance of the system is down to those who use it. Yesterday (without our prior knowledge) another satellite system was installed alongside the existing one, the Management say 'to give us a choice of provider, and the Landlord can put what he wants on the roof'. They say there will be no charge to us for the instalation, however, if just one person takes up the option to use this second dish then we will all have to pay the ongoing maintenence for this on our service charge. Can this be right? Even if nobody took up the option to use this second dish, one day it will need replacing due to corrosion etc. This scheme is being rolled out across all lodges that they manage, again, whether there's an existing dish or not. Surely we should have been given a choice on this matter, any ideas please?
