My dad has a flat he rents to students, sadly due to alzheimers he is unable to see to its management. I have power of attorney and the letting agents have stressed it needs work doing before they can rent it next academic year. It s small flat I reckon 45 m2 max. They have quoted £ 5655 as follows: removal of mould bathroom toilet and kitchen (£2343), make good hole in bedroom 1 (£150), deep clean the carpet in bedroom 3 and remove mirror (£115), replace kitchen tap (£150), new bathroom suite (£2916).
Does this seem OK or excessive? The property is in a university town in the SE ( not London). Unfortunately my husband and I can t do the work due to kids and work commitments.thanks for any advice/ comments, I am not at all experienced in the letting world and would value your input.
