Can anyone inform me if there is a time limit in which a long leasehold flat has to be reassigned following the death of the resident. The Lease states that the landlord should be informed with copies of the probate documents being made available within three months. The elderly resident died some nine months ago, and as yet the beneficiary who is now residing at the property has made no attempt to address this matter. Is this a lawful action. Do I need to address this matter as the Freeholder of the building.
