My local council has sent details of a Private Tenancy Scheme - the scheme offers landlords free advice and support and currently holds an extensive list of residents looking for accommodation. They say council officers will carry out property inspections, access to tenancy agreement paperwork, property inventory checklist with digital photos.
They also state that Step Up applicants will have received a financial assessment from the CAB to ensure that they can afford to privately rent.
Is this a way of getting hb applicants in private housing? Does anyone have any experience of these schemes? My letting property is in a void at the moment, but not sure whether this would be a good idea.
