My tenant moved in on the 15th November 2012 of last year. Due to pressure I let him have a lease with a break clause even though I see no point in for the Landlord as I usually give a years lease without a break clause, however he did agree in writing to give me two months notice when he wished to leave instead of one months if I agreed to put in a break clause in the lease. He has now sent me an email giving notice and stating that his last day would be the 22nd of September,however if he is giving me two months notice his notice starts from the 15th August not from today and tha would take him up to the 14th November. However I am unsure if his stating that he would give me two months notice is legal or not. Can anyone advise please!
