I have been renting my house out to a person who is on housing benefit for the last 3 months, he is on a 6 months short assured tenancy, had terrible problems with him not paying part of his rent. The council have now stopped his benefit and it looks as if he has never been living in the house. I have managed to speak with him and he has agreed to hand the keys back to allow me to get somebody new. How do I go about doing this and ensuring that he also pays for the unpaid rent, between now and the time it takes to get a new tenant. Do i need to also suspend the SAT, not sure about the process. all help appreciated
