We had a improvement notice issued due to a faulty boiler that was about to be replaced under one of the new schemes, the tenant delayed the process as they (sadly not to our knowledge)were about to leave. The house no longer is eligible for the free boiler but still has the improvement notice on it and the council threatening action should I not comply even though they are fully aware that there are no tenants. Can they insist on a new boiler being fitted even if the house is empty? I'm not even sure we want to re let the property yet. thanks in advance.
