Tennant left and did not return keys

Hi can anyone please advise me my tennant left my property on Tuesday but the management company did not do the final inventory until Friday.
It has come to light that the tennant has left the property in a dreadful state with ruined carpets and damage to furnishings. My main concern is that the tennant still has keys to the property which include keys and a security fob for the electronic gates. The management company have no forwarding address.
Is this a matter for the police as the tennant could return at any time and enter the property
