I'm new to this forum so please bare with me.. I moved into my apartment the end of September on a 6 month contract.. I noticed that there was alot of condensation on the windows etc but figured it was because I have no choice but to dry my clothes indoors because its a first floor flat! Everytime I dry my clothes, I always make sure I leave the windows open to ventilate the room.. I asked the letting agency about getting a washer/dryer installed but they said they doubted the LL would install one because he went for whatever was cheapest i.e just supplying a washing machine, no dryer. Anyhow, over the last few weeks, I've noticed hairline cracks appear in the plaster walls (both horizontal and vertical cracks almost in the shapes of the plaster boards) and an unevenness that looks like bubbles. my problem is I'm not 100% sure if I caused these cracks by drying clothes indoors or if they where there when I moved in.. I need as much information as possible before I contact the letting agent because I don't want to loose my deposit as its my parents money (they lent it to me to give me a good start).. My bf has had a really bad chest infection ever since I moved in (he doesnt live with me but stays 1 or 2 nights a week) so I'm now wondering if this could have something to do with it.. I'm physically sick with worry over this because I've no idea how to handle such a situation. I want to make sure I'm armed with as much information as possible.. Having a washer/dryer would probably solve all my problems but I'm not in a financial position to buy one myself. I also keep the heating on low every evening when I return home so the flat isn't too hot.. Please help! any advice?
