I've had a property in Dundee which I let to students as an HMO. As such I have put up with a lot of demands from our local council concerning standards etc. I'm currently applying for the licence renewal and have got the report from the council which includes the following
paint walls in utility room, hall, stairs and landing
clean floor and cooker
clean tiles and grouting
clean shower screen
increase sockets in each bedroom from 4 to 6.
just wondered - can the council really insist on these as a prerequisite for renewing an HMO licence and they are outside of any actual legislation that I know of.?
Would appreciate any comments.
thanks
