Building and Contents Insurance whilst building works carried out

Hi,

I am in the process of purchasing a house which requires modernisation, in terms new bathroom, kitchen, carpeting, painting and some plastering.

I did a quick search on a couple of comparison sites, they all ask if working is being carried out at the property and if so not many will provide insurance.

Any ideas how i proceed with this, my mortgage co will require buildings insurance upon exchange.
