I have a house on about a 2 acre plot which I would like to sell. Within that two acres is an outbuilding which could easily be made into very comfortable accomodation so what I am thinking of doing is reducing the land with the house to about 1 acre and keeping the other acre with the outbuilding on it. I would then emigrate and use the outbuilding as short term accomodation when in the UK.
I dont want to approach the council just yet as I fear it might compromise another application I have submitted but im interested to know how you would approach this to achieve that outcome. Are there rights to accomodation in order to tend the land? Could it be classed as holiday accomodation? Could it even be classed a new dwelling in its own right?
Its green belt and new development in this area is very rare so I doubt it would become a new dwelling but the holiday or land managers accomodation would suit my needs. What are the other angles?
