Should I let tenants move back in after aggressive behaviour and just 1 month left?

Tenants asked to leave a month early and without paying the last month rent of a one year contract. Last week they left the keys and have moved out all of a sudden. After some discussion and a proposal that they pay 2 weeks rent rather than the full final month's rent as owed (and some aggressive and threatening emails texts and behaviour on their part) they have now decided they want to move back in and asked for the keys back. We have a deposit of 6 weeks rent with the DPS, however I am now nervous of how much damage they can do to the (furnished) property. Any advice would be very welcomed!

As an aside the guy has been previously aggressive to neighbours and in fact police have been called on occasions. I have never seen this first hand but am feeing very nervous about their sudden U-turn and decision to move back in. Is there anything I can do, or should I just allow them back in? Is there anything I should check on my insurance specifically? If they go back in and deliberately cause damage is there any criminal avenue I could/should pursue?? Please help!
