I wanted some advice regarding the brick built outhouse at the back of our flat at the rear of the garden. Since we moved in almost 3 years ago it has been left as a storage area and is big enough currently to convert into a study. However we were keen to use more space of the garden and extend it slightly such that there was enough room for a wet room shower, WC and small kitchenette such that the accomodation could be rented out as a studio flat.
Do you think we would get planning approval for such likes? If so does anyone know how to go about getting this approval - is there a recommended company etc who deals with the council in such manners and prepares the plans?
An alternative would be to keep the same sqaure footage and to just insultate and develop as is , which my understanding wouldnt require planning but simply building regs
Also, do you think doing such a refurb would add value to the property? Flat is in Ealing, West London
