In February this year one of my properties was damaged by the Police.
The front door to one of my flats was damaged beyond repair by the police when they were looking for a previous tenant.
A new door cost me £300.
I have now received an invoice from a building company for £264 for 'boarding up services on behalf of the Police'
Am I liable/responsible for the invoice...?
I did not ask the building company to board up the front door, I have my own tradesman who could have done this for me quite easily.
£264 seems excessive for a piece of 8x4 chipboard and some wood screws!
Has anyone ever had a similar experience?
Any advice would be appreciated.
