Not sure which section to post this question but need some help.
We recently bought the freehold to our house and therefore can do our own maintenance after years of neglect.
The prob I have is follows. *We are 4 owners/directors. *One of our directors is deeply eccentric and difficult and lives in an unmodernised flat at the top of the house. *we are in a road where the average house is valued at 3.5 million.
The street is mainly pebbledash detatched vicorian properties - as is ours. *All neighbouring houses have been brought up to standard with painted pebbledash in neutral cream and look great. *
3 of us wish our house to blend in with the other houses but the eccentric tenant/director objects to this and argues that it is an 'improvement' and he will not pay towards this. *He wants the house to saty as shabby as possible because he hates the possibility that one of our directors will sell his flat and make a profit when the house looks nice.
Our managing agent feels that his objection on the grounds of 'improvement' has some substance and we are trying to seek comromise. *Cannot we put majority director pressure thru the LVT or something??
