How often should Fire Risk Assessment be renewed

I'm the director of our residents' assoc. We had a fire risk assessment carried out in 2008 which generally said the building was fine but recommended some improvements which we've made and we're likely to make some more over the next couple of years. However our managing agents are pressing us to have another risk assessment done now with warnings that if a fire were to break out the insurers and courts would take a dim view because of the long time since the last assessment. 5 years doesn't seem that long but how often should these things be renewed? Any advice?
