transferring the tenant's deposit

Hi there,

We are new to being landlords and need help! We started with an agent who managed the tenants' deposit with a scheme (we should find out which one shortly). We recently fell out with our agent and have mutually agreed to take over the management of the property. The tenants' deposit is still registered under the agent's company name - can this be transferred across so that we manage the check-out variations/deposit adjustments ourselves? Or, are we dependent on involving our ex-agent come the check-out time?
