Hi all,
The day after we moved into our new property, we put the dishwasher on and went to sit down and watch a movie. Thankfully, about 10mins in I went to the kitchen to get a drink and smelt an awful burning smell. I opened the dishwasher and smoke billowed out - there was no water in it and it had obviously overheated.
I phoned the LA the next day, and the day after that they sent their electrician to have a look at it. He diagnosed a new element needed and said he'd order it and be back with the part.
Anyway, that was 4 weeks ago now, and after constant badgering of the LA he returned today with a completely wrong part. So he says he'll have to order it again, which could take several more weeks!!
So, my question is - what is a reasonable time to wait for repair, before we can expect a replacement machine? Is the landlord obliged to fix/replace? After all, we are paying rent for a property that was advertised with a dishwasher.
Cheers
