WE have a tenant who owned us 4 month rent, he said he would pay back, bu now he moved to Doncaster as he said due to hes new job ( we live in Hull). He changed hes phone number and doesn't respond to an emails anymore. We've written to hes mother letter as my husband went there to see her and she witness contract. Also we've ring police and police said he promised to contact us but never did. He still has possessions and padlock on hes door. What is the best way for us to approach it. I strongly believe he is hiding from responsibilities and has no intention of paying rent back. Hes contract finishes in January.
1. My husband is going to call Hull housing rent officer for more help.
2. Does it good idea to put notice of abundancy on hes door? Also we need to change hes door with fire door for our HMO licence. Are we allowed to do it without hem being away?
3. or is it better to go with eviction order? What is best way to approach it?
