Long story short, one of my previous landlords decided to take my deposit (and a friend's) and do a runner. He's middle eastern and looks to have money so I don't even know if he's in this country anymore. I have his facebook page but his pictures are all in a foreign country. I don't know how recent they are, maybe it was just a holiday...
I have the address of the landlords parents (I think - it's the address given to the buyers of the house - did I mention that? He bloody sold it before he ran away!) and a 192.com search does bring his name up, along with the rest of the family (I'm assuming). He's quite a young man so I wouldn't expect the family to be 'his own', so I assume it's his parents. He could very well live elsewhere and have not updated his details on the electoral roll.
I've tried to serve court papers at the address I have, but have had no response, and registered post has not been taken, I don't know if the door was answered or not. My solicitor has said that he won't be able to send any more documents there without being able to confirm the landlord receives post at the address.
I wondered if anyone had used any people finding services, or private investigators to successfully trace anyone, particularly if they are out of the country, and what lengths these companies actually go to ensure they have up to date information?
