What type of tenancy agreement should be given to a short-term lodger?
Is there a minimum period?
The situation would be a 'person helping out a friend short-term whilst his housing application is processed. The friend has already been offered a property by council but it was deemed unsuitable and they have agreed to re-offer sometime in the new year'.
There will be a claim for housing benefit - room rate, going through so they need to know exactly which type of tenancy agreement to complete.
The person helping out the friend does not want to restrict the friend/lodger with notice periods, so perhaps a break clause - wording would be needed.
